Wall Quilt and Swimming Pool

Well, today we made great progress. The pot quilt (really "Bountiful Blessings") is now hanging in a place of honor on the wall opposite our front door so when anyone comes in they will have to look at it. Was going to put it on a wall across the room by the dining room table, but it just didn't look right there. This blank wall is perfect. For now, since the light from outside is dimmer, it'll be ok - I will have to re-think this in the summer when we get more sunlight. I will either have to keep the curtains drawn or hang a cover over it on those days.

But it's there and I have to admit it is pretty dang cool!! Patting myself on the back!!!



Gene's buddy, Mike, was over today to start digging our swimming pool out by the back fence. It's long enough to do laps and will be a great spot once we get water out there. He's coming back on Monday to move more dirt around and yank a couple of ugly trees out of the turning circle. Gene's vision for that area now includes some berms along with the cactus garden/dry stream bed. Can't wait to decorate some of those trees out there, especially the blue spruce, for Christmas.


Very frosty this morning but the day was beautiful. Levi got to dig in the yard...we are not sure what he thinks is under the grass but it was fun to watch him do his "terrier thing" and dig, rip out grass in chunks and get his face totally messy.
