Yippeee.........we found the piano light and the recipe box...in a box that was put in the wrong place by the movers and covered with 2-3 other boxes. Gene found it this afternoon....now I have no more excuses to not cook....but what a relief to find the light and the recipes. A new project will be to put all those recipes into a book or on the web and burned to a CD.
Tonight we had a great time at a neighborhood party. Susan and Jess, who live just up the hill behind us, had about 14 people over for a barbecue...everyone brought something to share...I made Deviled Eggs which of course everyone loves but folks don't make that often. Their house is gorgeous - lots of wonderful art and artifacts - western, northwoods, and New Mexican all rolled into one dream of a house. We had a ball and it was fun to meet more neighbors. And since our back gate opens onto their road, we just have to open our gate and drive into our yard that way instead of going down the road and up our lane. Anyway, we feel very welcomed here and are starting to know more people.
Here're a few pictures from the last month...some from our move, some of the animal life around here (saw 3 coyote babies on the road in front of us last night when we were coming home from the Dairy Queen), rain and rainbows etc.
And best of all, we have renters for the house in Seattle. They move in August 1- mom and two sons... such good news. Life is good...sometimes you just have to have faith!
