Well, things are going along here - we are collecting boxes and packing and getting ready for the remodeling guys and cleaning spiderwebs, among other stuff. Gene has "hired" one of the neighbor boys to help him clean/pack the garage. Reed wants to buy an iPod and his parents told him he needed to earn the money, so Gene is putting him to work.. good for both of them. We have a bunch of boxes from the liquor store and also from some folks who just moved back from Asia (military) and wanted to get rid of their boxes. Heavy-duty ones - dish pack boxes - great stuff and free. Gene bought doors for all the closets and needs to stain them and then the guys will hang them for us to replace all the ugly ones that are there now. And best of all, Reed is cleaning spiderwebs and dust from the corners and walls of the garage. Me? I'm thinking... and organizing and working on my quilt. I will start packing the downstairs kitchen next week - crystal/china/glass that we hardly ever use. Hoping they will do the dry wall and mudding downstairs first so that I can paint the kitchen there.
So much to do. We have made a deal with the mover and he's coming to get our stuff the first week of June. Gene is going to try to sell his trailer up here so we don't have to take it down to NM. My suggestion... ad on Craig's list should do it. Then we can "give" the mover all our stuff and not have to worry about the trailer and the things that were going to go on there. Our trip will be easier. Wish we could afford to have the car transported down there and only drive one, but that probably isn't in the cards.
So things are moving along, weather is turning much nicer and we're heading to see the Mariner's game tonight. Want to do that a couple of times before we head southwest.
