No, not us...the old black Steelcase desk that Gene bought in 1983 - It has gone to a new home. We advertised it on Freecycle Seattle (which means it was free - just come and get it) and someone wanted vintage! Nice guy who actually showed up on time and with all the necessary padding and such in his Jeep to get it. He and Gene wrangled it out of the downstairs, and then down the outside stairs to the alley and put it in his car. And away it went....now we have space in the office to stack boxes and one less thing to worry about.
The house is slowly becoming a box storage space! We feel like progress is being made, finally. Gene is going to fly back here after a few days in Las Vegas and will get the house painted with the help of his friend, Ted. Those two work really well together and I'm just glad I'm not going to be here as you do not want to get in their way when they are working.
We've been offered a place to stay on the 13th when we arrive in LV by one of our new neighbors (and Linda's new choir director and quilting friend) and our real estate agent said she'd have snacks and juice in the refrigerator for Sunday morning when the movers arrive. Even Levi is being welcomed at Carol and Pat's for Saturday night. They have a dog so Levi will meet a new friend also!
This afternoon we've just been hanging around the house doing no packing. I think we both just hit a wall and couldn't face one more box or the sound of tape!! It's a gorgeous, sunny, warm weekend here - summer has arrived.
Anyone want a 6-drawer, white dresser with roses stenciled on it? Come and get it. :)
